Congratulations are in order and new Jessamy Art!
Stake is nominated for a Ringo award and Jessamy #1 has a new cover, plus more!
Happy Tuesday!
Hope all of you here in the states had a nice Labor Day weekend.
Last week we got some great news about our little series Stake. We were nominated for a Ringo Award:
“The Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards is an annual celebration of the creativity, skill and fun of comics. The Ringo Awards recognize outstanding achievements in over 20 categories, and are the only industry awards nominated by fans and pros alike, with final voting by the comic professional community. Launched in 2017, the awards ceremony is held annually at the Baltimore Comic-Con. Further details are available at www.ringoawards.com.”
I’m really proud of Joel and Francesca for this. And also our fans! The thing about this nomination is that a large portion of the deciding factor is decided by a fan ballots.
So THANK YOU!
The awards are announced at Baltimore Comic Con on October 29th. The final vote belongs to industry professionals, so if that describes you, please vote here!

The Kickstarter campaign may have ended, but you still have time to order the final issue of Stake Presents: Jessamy (and the first two issues as well).

When a prank gone wrong leaves Somaya mentally devastated, digital clown Larry returns to offer a helping hand...”

New Job at Merc Publishing
As many of you may know, I stepped away from my role at Scout Comics as co-publisher recently. I valued my time at Scout greatly and will forever be grateful for the opportunity, but now it’s on to the next!
I’m excited to announce that I’m going to be helping out over at Merc Publishing with some behind the scenes stuff, including helping to launch a new imprint for them called Legends Comics.
Merc is best known for their Miss Meow universe of comics that have an incredible crowdfunding and convention presence, as well as recent direct market success.
If you like bad girl comics, great art, and sometimes maybe a few NSFW covers, check them out here!
There’s currently an artbook on Kickstarter killing it with a few days to go!
Upcoming Appearances
Ancient City Con from September 16-18 in St Augustine, FL
New York Comic Con from October 6-9 in New York, NY (at the Merc Publishing booth and likely hanging around at the Nomasss Comics booth)
…and maybe Baltimore Comic Con October 28-30 if my schedule permits!
Hopefully I’ll see you at one of these shows!
Until next time!
