Hello all!
As you may recall, I mentioned Stake was nominated for a Ringo! award to be announced at Baltimore Comic Con.
The award ceremony was October 29th and was a lovely affair to be sure, alas, our dear title did not bring home the gold.
We were beaten out by the very deserving Did you hear what Eddie Gein done? It truly was an honor for myself and the entire Stake team to be nominated and get to go to the ceremony and rub elbows with other incredibly talented creators.
We did get a really cool swag bag that included a few action figures and approximately seven pounds worth of graphic novels and comics - I almost had to pay an additional charge for my bag on the way home!
It’s thanks to the support of people like you that we were even nominated, so thank you all again!
Canceled is back! We’re live with a new campaign for Canceled II #1 on a new crowdfunding platform!
If you’ve backed one of my campaigns, you done your survey through a service called BackerKit. BackerKit has now enter the crowdfunding game with is own platform, so we thought we’d give it a shot for Canceled II.
I have to admit, I’m a little nervous with it being a new platform and stepping out of my comfort zone and regular stomping grounds of the Kickstarter platform.
I’m really happy with the product we’ve put together here with a fun new story in the Canceled universe.
This new installment can be read without reading the first issue! In Canceled II Y2k is looming and Somaya works diligently to secure her office’s computer systems from impending doom. As she toils away, her coworkers play evil tricks on her. When a prank gone wrong leaves Somaya mentally devastated, digital clown Larry returns to offer a helping hand.
The main cover features art by frequent collaborator Fredy Bardales, with art from Alexandre Santanart, colors by Robert Nugent, and letters by Joel Rodriguez rounding out the creative team.
This campaign features some awesome covers like all of our other issues, with art from Ben Templesmith, Ingrid Gala, Jimbo Salgado, and Jonathan Grimm Art.
We’re also anxiously awaiting one more from the amazing Alan Quah!
You can back the campaign for this 28 page book now and if you’re in the first 48 hours, get a free copy of the Ashcan in physical or digital format!
Check it out here!
I’ll be tracking the journey on this new experience with BackerKit and sharing how it goes!
We hope to see you on the campaign trail!
Until next time!
